According to Boing-Boing, “The digital collection incorporates images of all Poe manuscripts and letters at the Ransom Center with a selection of related archival materials, two books by Poe annotated by the author, sheet music based on his poems, and portraits from the Ransom Center collections. Poe’s manuscripts and letters are linked to transcriptions on the website of the Poe Society of Baltimore.”

Various members of the media will be attendance at the convention. Right now all of the people we have signed up are from industry publications, but we will be contacting local newspapers such as the San José Mercury News and San Francisco Chronicle. In order to help us better direct the journalists to people who actually want to be talked to (as opposed to those of you who would rather stay away from them) we have created a media questionnaire. You can find it here. Please fill it in if you are interested in talking to journalists.
The industry publications that we know will be attending are as follows:
If any other media representatives have memberships, please let us know.

Posted in General | Comments Off on Hosting a Hospitality Event?
Are you planning on hosting a hospitality function at World Fantasy Con, such as a book launch for an author or a celebration of one of our Guests of Honor? If so, please read the information about hosting Hospitality Events. In particular, if you do not have a suite booked for the 19th or 20th floors, you cannot host an event in your room; also, if you have not heard from Rina Weisman about your event, the event is not booked, and you need to contact her at pub-liaison@worldfantasy2009.org.
We plan to publish a list of scheduled and confirmed hospitality functions on the web site soon.

We have some more details on the banquet menu available here.
We are very happy to try to cater for allergy and dietary restrictions. However, the hotel has asked that we let them know about such requirements by Friday, October 16 so that they have time to plan meals and order ingredients. Write to banquet [@] worldfantasy2009.org if you have any such requirements.
